CONTRACTOR TO UPGRADE CHACHAMA ROAD FROM GRAVEL TO TAR OFFICIALLY HANDED OVER

MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Nkakareng Rakgoale has on Wednesday officially handed over a contractor, Martmol Trading to upgrade the road which connects Roerfontein, Ga-Raphahlelo and Ga-Phooko villages. The contractor will upgrade a 9.1 kilometre stretch of road which will be done in phases from gravel to tar. Phase 1 of which is 3 kilometre with R40 Million budget will commence very soon and expected to be complete before the end of financial year. MEC Rakgoale indicated that 30% of the budget aims to empower local SMMEs and 10% is for the employment of local labourers.
