MEC MAKAMU VISITS MPHUMA SCHOOL, IMPROVED MATRIC RESULTS ANTICIPATED

The MEC for Corporate Governance, Human Settlementand Traditional Affairs, Bisikopo Makamu has conducted a special visit to Mphuma High School today at Ga-Mamaila village in Sekgosese as part of Limpopo EXCO’s programme for MEC’s to monitor the readiness of schools to begin the new academic year.

The Limpopo EXCO’s programme targeted schools that are best-performing, underperforming and serial-underperforming according to the 2021 results.

The MEC empathized that it is important that leaders in government, communities and businesses all realize their respective responsibilities to support the educational endeavors of learners.

“Education is a societal matter, we cannot only leave it to principals to carry it while doing nothing as leaders in government and society”, said MEC Makamu.

He encouraged grade 12 learners to make sure they pass and get matric certificate as it gives them entry to good opportunities out there.

“The advancement of quality education for our children remains a pivotal aspect of our government’s focus”, said MEC Makamu who was accompanied by the Mayor of Greater Letaba,  Dagma Mamanyoha.

“It is all systems go at our school and we are anticipating improved matric results compared to previous academic year”, said the Principal of Mphuma High School, Josephine Phatudi.

Thr matric results will be released on the 21st of January 2021.
