MAMAILA KOLOBETONA TRADITIONAL COUNCIL VEHICLES ENGULFED IN FIRE

GA-MAMAILA | Two vehicles belonging to Mamaila-Kolobetona Traditional Council were engulfed in fire that broke in the garage last night at around 20h00.

The Toyota Hilux 2.4 GD-6 RB Raider A/T P/U D/C Glacier White (040) and Toyata Avanza 1.3 SX(53C) were parked in the garage within the premises of Mamaila Traditional Council when the fire broke, consequently the vehicles were completely destroyed.

This was confirmed by Mamaila Traditional Council in a statement.

The estimated financial damage including two vehicles and property is currently being assessed. A case has been registered at Sekgosese Police Station and the cause of the fire is under investigations.

Reportedly, the fire incident has affected electricity supply at the Mamaila-Kolobetona Traditional Council office, cameras DD box system. The garage area is currently deemed unsafe until thorough investigations and repairs are completed.

Mamaila-Kolobetona Traditional Council applauded Emergency Services for swift response.

“The fire that broke in Mamaila-Kolobetona Traditional Council office resulted in significant property damage, however the swift response from emergency services helped to mitigate a potentially severe situation”, reads the statement.

It was further revealed that, Mamaila-Kolobetona Traditional Council services will still continue from 06 August 2024 as normal while the investigations are underway.
