JOINING A POLICY UNKNOWINGLY

Sekgosese Insider has been reliably informed that there are certain Clientèle agents at Mamaila Mall who request people to give them their Identity Document number and phone numbers saying they send that information to head office as a  confirmation that they are talking to people and telling them about what they offer on different policies.

However, that is not the case as there are already local residents who had joined their policy unknowingly after giving them such information.

To one of the victim’ surprise she saw a message saying she has an active policy and money will be debited from her account on the 25th of every month.

“I was shocked to see the SMS saying I have a policy without signing or agreeing to anything, I knew the guy and giving him my ID and contact number I thought I was helping him out to really show that he is working indeed, luckily I called the Clientèle helpline and canceled the plan immediately”, said one of the shoppers at Mamaila Mall.

She further said that if they have your ID and contact number it automatically link to your account number.

“Please be aware, don’t give away your details to any agent if you don’t want a policy”, she advised.

Sekgosese Insider tried to contact the Clientéle’ Sales Manager at Mamaila Mall, David Mubvafhi who said they are not aware of such practice and  had just recruited new agents last week.
